PRO + Skin Academy leases 3,479 square feet of space in Executive Plaza 3

A licensed trade school for aspiring estheticians has expanded with its new location within the four-building, 550,000 square foot Executive Plaza mixed-use community in Hunt Valley. PRO + Skin Academy, which was founded by Courtney Hare in 2023, signed a lease with Hill Management Services, Inc. for 3,479 square feet of space at Executive Plaza 3 at 11350 McCormick RoadDanielle Bridge, Leasing Manager at Hill Management Services represented the landlord in this transaction.

PRO + Skin Academy combines virtual learning environments with in-field work experiences as students earn their licenses to practice as skin, hair, or nail professionals. The cosmetology sequence requires 1500 hours of learning and working experience. Students pursuing an esthetician license need 600 hours, and the nail technician curriculum requires 350 hours. The program provides training and education for the proper techniques used in skincare career, lash and brow treatments, facials, hair removal with an emphasis in skin sciences, product chemistry, advanced modalities.

“We outgrew our first brick and mortar space after initially starting as a virtual-based school, and needed more room for our six staff members,” explained Hare. “Executive Plaza is more aesthetically-pleasing than our previous space, and that is something we pay close attention to given our industry sector. First impressions and outward appearances matter greater in our socially conscious world. The facility features private classrooms and areas where our students are exposed to training, prior to be placed in a learning situation where they observe the operations and techniques of a professional.”

Hare added that PRO + Skins Academy provides training in customer service, retailing, marketing, and financial literacy to help graduates become entrepreneurs and manage their own business. The typical semester enrollment is 30 students and lasts approximately six weeks.

“The popularity of the skin care and related industries are growing precipitously as these concepts are entering the mainstream and becoming as accepted as visiting a salon to get your hair cut,” Hare said. “In the past, the treatments were viewed as a corrective measure rather than now, when consumers simply want to look and feel their best. Everyone has so much screen time when your face is enhanced before an audience, and that also plays a role.”

In recent years, Hill Management Services has invested in a comprehensive improvement and enhancement strategy at Executive Plaza, which focused on common areas such as the restrooms, lobbies, and elevators, as well the installation of new exterior signage and landscaping packages. The ground-level floor contains a variety of business and personal amenities including a deli, fitness center, conference rooms, post office, hair salon, convenience store and gift shop, storage space, and car detail area.

Executive Plaza is located adjacent to Interstate 83 in the heart of the Hunt Valley Premier Business District and is less than 10 miles from Towson and approximately 15 miles from downtown Baltimore City.

“Pro + Skin Academy is the most recent group to choose Executive Plaza based on the mixed-use community’s best-in-class business environment and on-site amenities,” explained Danielle Beyrodt, Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer of Hill Management Services. “We have worked diligently to enhance the exterior and interior curb appeal, as well as enhance the amenity package that satisfies the needs of tenants, their employees, and visitors. Our efforts have been validated by our current leasing momentum.”
