Mosaic Asset Partners moves to larger Timonium office

A financial planning firm has moved into a larger office in Timonium with plans to grow its team.

Mosaic Asset Partners moved into a 3,355-square-foot space at 9515 Deereco Road last month after over a decade in Towson, said Christopher Wasson, the firm’s president. The five-person firm has $350 million in assets under management, and the larger office space will allow Mosaic to add more employees in the coming years.

“I have a few empty offices now, but I suspect that within the next year or two those will be filled,” Wasson told the Baltimore Business Journal.

Mosaic was founded in 2000 and had previously worked out of The Exchange building in Towson. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Mosaic signed a five-year lease to expand there and had outgrown its 2,500-square-foot space by the time the lease ended, Wasson said.

The move to Timonium allowed Mosaic to upgrade its space and change its office layout. The 10-story, 132,000-square-foot Class A building has a fitness center, a 20-person conference room, a hair salon and a few restaurants — all things Wasson and his team find appealing. The building owned by Hill Management Services Inc. is also close to businesses on York Road, a Light Rail station and a hotel with conference services.

Mosaic works with both businesses and individuals to offer education, estate, insurance, retirement and tax planning services, and Wasson believes the new space will give his clients a more elevated experience. He also configured the office so the conference rooms are now centrally located, which is more conducive to his team and their clients.

“When you’re working with someone’s finances, assets, I want to sit down, I want to look at them in the eye, I want to see body language,” he said. “You’re going to get more of a story that way.”

Mosaic is the latest firm to move into the Deereco Road building. Albers & Associates took nearly 16,000 square feet in the building last spring, and Select Event Group, which is leading a bid to retain the Maryland 5 Star, moved its headquarters there late last fall.

“Professional services firms continue to gravitate towards 9515 Deereco based on the building’s high-profile image, tremendous accessibility in the Interstate 83 corridor, proximity to both businesses and dense residential neighborhoods, free on-site parking and nearby amenities,” said Danielle Beyrodt, vice president and chief operating officer at Hill Management, in a statement.
